Description
Poulin Design cushion with woven motif of Gustav Klimt's Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I, also known as the Woman in Gold. The genesis of this beautiful portrait dates back to 1903 when sugar manufacturer, Ferdinand Bloch-Bauer, commissioned Gustav Klimt to paint a portrait of his wife, Adele.

Gustav Klimt portrayed Adele Bloch-Bauer with a golden halo that beautifully frames her sensual face, with flushed cheeks and round lips. Adele is wearing precious jewelry that Ferdinand had given her as a wedding gift. The artwork was executed in oil paint and gold on canvas and dates from Gustav Klimt's golden period. It took Gustav Klimt 3 years to complete the painting of Adele.

The cushion with the reproduction of Woman in gold is woven at one of Belgium's oldest weaving mills and is available here in the size 48 x 48 cm.
