ABOUT LIND DNALINDDNA is a young, family-owned company founded by sisters Mie and Bine Lind and their father Preben Lind in 2013. In a short time, they have realized a common dream of creating a sustainable and unique design company with production in Denmark, designing lifestyle products for home and office. The products are minimalist in their design language and inspired by nature. Through innovation and creativity, LIND DNA creates products that with their expression both continue and create a new tradition in the use of materials, functionality and sustainable design. This is the spirit of LIND DNA. LIND DNA is based in Aarhus.
Danish production AtLIND DNA, we are committed to ensuring sustainable production through the use of local resources. LIND DNA's sustainable profile is further strengthened by local Danish labor and craftsmanship ? and therefore LIND DNA lives up to the concept of 'Made in Denmark? in the most literal sense of the word.

All LIND DNA products are designed, produced and packaged in Aarhus, Denmark. Despite the fact that many of LIND DNA's products require greater craftsmanship, LIND DNA is determined not to outsource production abroad. LIND DNA's products have a special seal of quality.

Local and flexible

LIND DNA focuses on good quality and unique design. With local production, LIND DNA can react quickly to new and up-coming trends, which is something everyone in the LIND DNA family business values.

At LIND DNA, ideas on the drawing board can become new LIND DNA prototypes the next day, and within a few weeks the first LIND DNA prototypes can be tested and put into production. This will ensure continuous renewal and development of the LIND DNA product range. At LIND DNA it is not a branding strategy, but common sense to live up to the concept of âMade in Denmarkâ"Choose Danish â Choose LIND DNAâ"could be the motto, but LIND DNA does not live by mottoes â LIND DNA lives by design, quality and flexibility, which all LIND DNA products show.

Sustainable design

For LIND DNA, sustainability and natural materials are fundamental elements in LIND DNA's strategy. The pervasive material in LIND DNA's production is a special kind of recycled leather made from leftover and discarded leather from shoes, furniture and bags, which is processed and mixed with natural rubber. LIND DNA found the idea and LIND DNA pursued it until they had the unique combination of 80% recycled leather and 20% natural rubber, resulting in a durable material that is water-repellent and easy to clean. And as mentioned, LIND DNA is Danish.

Environmentally friendly packaging

In keeping with the sustainable recycled leather, LIND DNA placemats, LIND DNA coasters and LIND DNA placemats are delivered in a special Kraftpak packaging, which consists of thick cardboard produced from hardwood fibers - also developed by LIND DNA. The fiber production process makes LIND DNA packaging significantly more durable and is produced with lower energy consumption than regular cardboard. LIND DNA packaging is actually approved for direct food contact as Kraftpak contains no chemicals of any kind, and being produced at low energy is something LIND DNA can really be proud of.

LIND DNA - Responsible production

The choice of materials at LIND DNA has since the beginning been expanded to include aluminum, Danish oak and wool. LIND DNA has also chosen that the oak is felled in the forests of Jutland and that the aluminum is processed locally. LIND DNA follows all production processes very closely.

The wool that LIND DNA uses for "LIND DNA bags", "LIND DNA notebooks" and "LIND DNA cushions" is produced with significantly less energy than regular felt, which makes the material more coarse and adds the Scandinavian, raw expression that is sought after in all LIND DNA designs.

The birth of the idea

The seed of LIND DNA is found in the close collaboration between sisters Mie and Bine Lind - the founders of LIND DNA, who have been both sisters and colleagues for many years.At a family dinner at their father Preben Lind's house, the LIND DNA sisters accidentally discovered the unique properties of the recycled leather material that today forms the basis of almost all LIND DNA designs. The leather turned out to be heat-resistant, waterproof, incredibly durable and easy to clean. The family found this discovery very interesting and decided to start LIND DNA.
