The Crate Dining Chair was originally created in 1934 by Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld as a way to utilize surplus wood from shipping crates. Now, the iconic chair has been relaunched in a modern collaboration between Rietveld Originals and HAY with great respect for the original design.
