Description
The PH 5 pendant was developed by Poul Henningsen in 1958 PH 5 was introduced as a classic innovation, and no one could have known at the time that PH 5 would eventually become a synonym for the PH lamp. No matter how the lamp is installed and no matter what light source is used, the PH 5 is completely glare-free.

The luminaire was named PH 5 because of the 50 cm diameter of the main shade. Poul Henningsen wanted to improve the color rendering properties of the light source in the PH 5, so small red and blue shades were added to provide a color supplement in the part of the spectrum where the eye is least sensitive - red and blue - and thus weaken the light in the middle area - the yellow-green - where the eye is most sensitive.
