The history of Naver Collections.
Naver Collection's name is no coincidence. The word "Naver" is an old term for young journeymen carpenters from Scandinavia who traveled to Europe to experience and improve their skills. Hence the name Naver Collection. However, the Naver Collection does not send young carpenters on a pilgrimage on foot, although some would probably find it interesting. But that doesn't mean that Naver Collection isn't evolving and traveling the world to improve their skills - on the contrary, at Naver Collection, dedicated carpenters still have the same love for carpentry and wood as they did back then.
At Naver Collection, they use the most advanced machinery, but always in close interaction with handcraft and the desire to explore new experiences of wood. This has been the case from the beginning of Naver Collection's history and it still is. Naver Collection continuously develops new furniture and designs where the key concepts are function, ergonomics and quality of life. Naver Collection furniture is deliberately designed for modern people who are discerning in terms of quality and good design. With Naver Collection furniture, you have the opportunity to express your unique and personal style. Naver Collection is produced in Denmark by Gramrode Møbelfabrik A/S and Aksel Kjersgaard A/S. By carpenters who know that it's the final details that make the difference.
Naver Collection quality.
With a piece of furniture from Naver Collection, you can be 100% sure that nothing has been left to chance or processes have been sloppy. From the very first sketch to the finished piece of furniture, Naver Collection ensures that every dimension has been thought through.
Naver Collection's carpenters select the solid wood with the utmost care and then it is dried to ensure the right moisture content. If, contrary to expectations, some wood is not dry at the end of the drying period, Naver Collection sends it out again. This is the only way to reduce the risk of the wood cracking at a later date - which none of Naver Collection's wooden furniture does. Naver also sorts the wood so that the color and structure match in each piece of furniture. Naver Collection's carpenters ensure that every detail of every piece of furniture is carefully crafted, and finally, all parts are sanded by hand in the Naver Collection carpentry workshop. This continuous control ensures that Naver Collection furniture is not only beautiful to look at, but also that Naver Collection furniture can be used for many years to come. That's Naver quality.
Naver Collection is also a flexible company, for example, if a customer wants a different surface than what the product is born with, it is often possible. For example, Naver Collection's AK 2730 sideboard can be made with a wooden top instead of a corian top if desired.
Naver Collection Point tables.
The Point tables from Naver Collection are available in 4 versions in different types of wood. At Interior, we always have one of the versions on display, as the table is incredibly beautiful. Of course, the timeless design of the Naver Collection is a recurring theme, but this Naver product is also very light in its expression and the beautifully rounded shapes and proportions give the Naver Collection Point tables a unique look. Naver Collection calls the series GM 9920-GM 9970.
Behind the Point series are the designers Søren Nissen & Ebbe Gehl. They both graduated from Rud. Rasmussens Snedkeri in Copenhagen and both also have a design education behind them. They have worked together since 1970 and over the years their work for Naver Collection, among others, has earned them numerous awards and their long-standing collaboration with Naver Collection's cabinetmakers is probably what they are best known for.
Naver Collection AK 2730 sideboard.
Naver Collection produces several different sideboards. One of them is called AK 2730 and Naver Collection produces it in different types of wood - specifically - 3 types of wood with different surface treatments. Naver Collection's AK 2730 sideboard is a bit of a mess, so ingenious is it that Naver Collection has managed to combine jealousy doors with a modern sideboard. When Naver Collection introduced the AK 2730, it was an instant success. Naver Collection makes the sideboard with a corian top and minimalist stainless steel handles and legs.
Naver Collection Tiger chair.
Naver Collection's most popular chair is the 'Tiger'. It is a chair with amazing comfort. Naver Collection produces the chair both with and without armrests. The armrest is the strength of the Tiger chair, as it is just long enough to support the arm, but short enough to move the chair to the table. Naver Collection calls the series GM 4105-06 and this is an expression of the different variants the chair is available in. Naver Collection has created the Tiger chair with the natural seating needs of humans in mind.
The Tiger chair is designed by Henrik Lehm for Naver Collection. He is one of the new Danish designers on his way to international recognition for his modern furniture design. He graduated as a civil engineer in architecture and design from Aalborg University in 1994. In 2003, this education was supplemented with studies in international branding and marketing. What Henrik Lehm is good at is continuing the Danish furniture design tradition in a well-balanced combination with international, industrial design. Naver Collection realized this early in his career.
