Description
The 2.5-seater sofa was designed by Børge Mogensen's son, but it was his architect son Peter Mogensen who completed his father's last furniture series. The extra wide seat cushions break the formality of Børge Mogensen's design with an implicit respect.

With an exquisite choice of materials, construction and execution, the models in the Børge Mogensen Select Collection are of the finest quality and unique in their ability to age with beauty.

Mogensen designed the prototype of the first sofa 2213 for his own home in 1962. The ambition was nothing less than to create the ultimate sofa. Today, the leather furniture can be seen in embassies, ministerial offices, luxury hotels and private homes all over the world.

Børge Mogensen found inspiration for the furniture series in British Hall Porters chairs and in his teacher Kaare Klint's sofas from the 1920s. In addition to its functional and aesthetic qualities, the Børge Mogensen Select Collection builds on Fredericia's more than a century-old upholstery traditions. Traditions that Mogensen modernized, and thus preserved, as an essential part of Fredericia's design DNA.

The Børge Mogensen Select Collection is created with an uncompromising attitude to quality. From the inner frame construction in solid wood and the exact mix of down and foam in the cushions, to the fine and unbroken welting in all seams. The tight shape of the furniture is preserved over time thanks to the high caliber of Fredericia's leather collection and the time-consuming precision work required for the upholstery.
